Robert Scoble is pissed. Rightfully so. Every once in a while, I start to think that some parts of Microsoft ‘get it’, and that the company might not become totally irrelevant. Then one sees what Robert’s talking about in this post.

Technical difficulties
February 17th, 2005 · No Comments
Yesterday I upgraded this site to the full, non-beta version of WordPress 1.5. In the process, I fumble-fingered and forgot to move one important file back into place. As a result, it’s likely that none of the internal links on the site worked. Oops. Sorry about that. Mea culpa! It’s been fixed now, and hopefully [...]

Transmit 3
February 16th, 2005 · No Comments
The folks over at Panic appear to have done it again. I’ve only spent a very short time playing around with their newly released Transmit 3. Whoa! Impressive. Although I’m a long time CLI guy, and know ssh and friends backwards and forwards, Transmit has saved my a lot of time over the past year. [...]

Google cheat sheet
February 16th, 2005 · No Comments
I consider myself quite well-versed in all of the various Google features, beta products, etc, but a few of the operators here escaped me. Most people just type a search term into Google and hit ’search’. There is so much more power lurking just under the surface. Take a few minutes an explore. You will [...]

Finding the right job/person
February 2nd, 2005 · No Comments
Seth Godin has a nice series of articles (first, second, third) dealing with job-finding and person-finding.
These articles relate nicely to the Cluetrain manifesto, as well as the Hughtrain, both of which are interesting reading. Highly recommended! A very small number of companies actually ‘get it’. The vast majority, sadly, don’t.

Cool shopping cart

Check out this very cool shopping cart. Add and remove items to/from the bottom section of the cart. Check out what happens when you remove an item from the cart. The Panic guys rock. I have licensed both of their major applications.

Transitions
February 1st, 2005 · 1 Comment
Well I’ve finally gotten off my duff and moved the engine behind this weblog from Movable Type to WordPress. I spent a couple of hours earlier today making the transition. It went quite smoothly. Hopefully this will also help with the comment spam problem – I had gotten to the point that I had disabled [...]

Well it looks like I may be able re-enable comments on this site again soon, because of what Google and other companies are doing. It’s really nice to see companies working together on this!

New cell phone
September 18th, 2004 · No Comments
Well, I finally got around to doing something about DJ’s cell phone ’situation’. We’ve been wanting to replace her aging, failing Startac for a few months now. The battery wouldn’t last, reception was crappy, etc. So yesterday, after having had her phone die in the middle of a conversation with me, I decided [...]
