A friend of mine is a distinguished child psychologist, with the best-behaved kids I’ve ever met. He’s also one of the kindest, mildest people I know. I asked him for some tips and he pointed me to The Incredible Years. It can be hard to locate a copy (Amazon doesn’t always have copies in stock) but it is so, so worth it.
