DJ and I had dinner at “The Ranch” last Friday (Valentine’s Day). I was quite amazed that I managed to stay awake, based on the amount of sleep I managed to get last week.
DJ is one lucky lady (she concurs with my observation). During dinner we exchanged gifts. I gave her her little gift bag. Inside was a small jewelery case. She opened it up to find the emerald ring that she had been eyeing recently. She was truly thrilled. But I wasn’t done. I then held out my hands with fists clenched and asked her to pick a hand. Apparently, she chose the correct one. In it she found a pair of diamond earrings. She had been eyeing these ones as well, but we had been joking about the timing of them. Since ‘diamond’ is the 10th anniversary, I had told her that she had only 7.5 years to wait for those earrings. She always countered with the 5th anniversary. I think I surprised her.
Oh, and with respect to expensive jewelery and such, I’m done now.
